Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores | September 26, 2024 | Press Release
The 12th International Relations Book Fair opened today at the Matías Romero Institute (IMR) headquarters under the theme "IMR: 50 Years Training Diplomats, Looking to the Future." Hermann Aschentrupp Toledo, the IMR's Acting Director General, led the inauguration.
Ambassador Aschentrupp noted, "This book fair will enable us to explore key international issues and examine the evolution of our diplomatic academy, as well as what lies ahead."
Held annually since 2012, the fair showcases the latest works on foreign policy, diplomacy, international law, and economics, alongside new publications from related fields.
The event is part of the IMR's year-long anniversary celebrations, highlighting its contributions since 1974. It will feature 45 publishing houses, twelve new publications, and three panel discussions on diplomatic practice. The opening panel, featuring former IMR directors, will review the Institute's historical progress, achievements, and challenges.
Each year, the Fair opens its doors to Mexico's youths, enabling them to expand their knowledge and engage in dialogue and intellectual exchange.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the IMR, reaffirms its commitment to promoting thoughtful discussion on global affairs and challenges, and strategies to address them.
