While Sharice Davids Stands Up For Social Security, Prasanth Reddy Will Threaten Cuts

Eighty-nine years after it was established, Social Security is bringing dignity and peace of mind to Kansans

Eighty-nine years after Social Security was created, House Republicans are trying to cut Kansas seniors' hard-earned benefits. Prasanth Reddy, who has been bankrolled by Mike Johnson and the most extreme members of his party, will be right there with them if elected.

This Congress, House Republicans have endorsed $1.5 trillion in cuts to Social Security, including raising the retirement age and cutting disability benefits.

Additionally, House Republicans on the Appropriations Committee voted to cut nearly half a billion dollars from the Social Security Administration, which would close field offices, extend wait times, and delay disability claims nationwide.

Sharice Davids knows how critical Social Security is for Kansas seniors; that's why she's working to protect it and standing up to any extreme efforts to gut it.

80% of voters oppose plans to cut Social Security benefits by raising the retirement age, and 81% oppose any cuts to retirement programs.

DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
"Prasanth Reddy won't stand up for Kansas seniors because he is all in on House Republicans' plans to cut Social Security and deny seniors their hard-earned benefits. Voters know Sharice Davids is protecting Social Security, which is why they will re-elect her in November."
