Police & Fire Temporary Relocation

Police Chief Allen issued the following press release:

On 10/21/24, the St. Clair Shores City Council gave final approval for the new Police and Fire Buildings project. The move to temporary facilities will begin on 11/1/24. It will take several days for us to be fully situated.

We will be temporarily located at 23401 Jefferson Ave. (between Marter and 9 Mile) in the school portion of St. Lucy's Parish. The entrance is at the far west end of the building. Temporary signs will be in place to assist in locating us.

Some of our services will be halted or reduced until the new building is completed. The following are some of the changes:

• No fingerprint services will be completed unless they are court-ordered. A list of Live Scan locations can be found at https://www.michigan.gov/msp/live-scan-vendors.

• No animals will be accepted. If a stray is found, please hold it at your home until Macomb County Animal Control can retrieve it or call MCAC directly at 586-469-5115. Officers will still be able to scan pets for chips to assist in locating owners.

Some services will remain the same:

• The secure drug disposal box will be located in our temporary lobby. Old prescription pills (in a sealed baggie) can be brought in at any time.

• Records bureau services (reports, parking permits, etc.) will continue as normal. The Records bureau will be closed the week of 11/4/24 to accomplish the move effectively.

To limit disruptions to church operations, we encourage residents to call SERESA dispatch at 586-777-6700 when police assistance is needed and an officer will respond to your home/location. Officers will still be available at the temporary location 24/7.

We expect to be in place for over a year. More information will be provided when we are preparing to move back to 11 Mile and Jefferson into the new station.
