UPDATED: REOPENED Aquatera Outdoor Pool closed due to air quality

UPDATE: 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21

The Aquatera Outdoor Pool will re-open for public swim at 4 p.m. today, August 21 due to reduced AQHI readings.
Swimming lessons are rescheduled to another day due to AQHI readings remaining in the 'High Risk' classification, in alignment with the Government of Canada's readings. City staff will contact registered participants directly with more information about the re-scheduling.
The City thanks visitors for their patience and is excited to open for a night of splashing fun!

Due to current and forecasted elevated air quality, the Aquatera Outdoor Pool is closed until further notice.

The closure is in effect for the health and safety of patrons and staff. All bookings and drop-in use are cancelled with this closure. The City will provide an update on swimming lessons later this afternoon.

Staff will continue monitoring air quality and provide updates each morning until the Aquatera Outdoor Pool reopens.
