RETAIL THEFT SERIES INVESTIGATION AND ARRESTS

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with recent retail theft.

Burglary Detail detectives have been investigating multiple organized retail thefts that have occurred between August 2023 to July 2024.

On July 18, 2024 at approximately 11:10 a.m., officers responded to a business at 71 Aquarium Way regarding a retail theft. Upon arrival, officers located and arrested two suspects who were in possession of over $6,700 worth of merchandise. A search of the suspects' vehicle revealed an additional $8,000 of stolen merchandise.

Through further investigation, detectives determined the suspects were connected to the following incidents:

Detectives believe the suspects are responsible for retail theft incidents at the following locations:

  • 7/2/2023 at approximately 2:44 p.m. - 5365 Cherry Avenue
  • 7/4/2024 at approximately 12:40 p.m. - 5365 Cherry Avenue
  • 8/10/2023 at approximately 3:30 p.m. - 71 Aquarium Way
  • 8/29/2023 at approximately 7:50 p.m. - 71 Aquarium Way
  • 11/28/2023 at approximately 5:50 p.m. - 71 Aquarium Way
  • 12/12/2023 at approximately 5:53 p.m. - 6440 E. Pacific Coast Highway
  • 1/30/2024 at approximately 3:04 p.m. - 71 Aquarium Way
  • 6/21/2024 at approximately 4:39 p.m. - 71 Aquarium Way
  • 6/28/2024 at approximately 6:28 p.m. - 6440 E. Pacific Coast Highway
  • 7/8/2024 at approximately 3:13 p.m. - 71 Aquarium Way
  • 7/17/2024 at approximately 5:28 p.m. - 6440 E. Pacific Coast Highway

The suspects were identified as Keyilah Lacy and Andy Pollard. Lacy, a 25-year-old resident of Compton, was booked for shoplifting, organized retail theft with the intent to sell/exchange and grand theft. Pollard, a 48-year-old resident of Wilmington, was booked for robbery, two counts of burglary, three counts of grand theft, organized retail theft with intent to sell/exchange, possession of a fake check and false identification to a peace officer.

Pollard and Lacy were both charged with nine counts of grant theft and one count of organized retail theft.

Both suspects are responsible for over $59,000 worth of retail theft to businesses in the Long Beach area and are believed to be responsible for several additional thefts in Los Angeles County and surrounding areas.
