"Idaho has made significant progress in increasing apprenticeship opportunities across our state. Apprenticeships greatly benefit the worker, the employer and our economy. Idaho remains committed to strengthening Idaho's workforce by expanding apprenticeships in the years ahead," Governor Little said.

National Apprenticeship Week is a nationwide celebration where industry, labor, workforce, education and government leaders host events to showcase how U.S. Department of Labor-certified Registered Apprenticeships provide a critical talent pipeline that can help address some of the nation's workforce challenges.

Registered Apprenticeships provide hands-on training and the option to "earn while you learn," making it an attractive choice for a wide range of job seekers. This career path offers sustainable, even life-changing, wages - the average starting wage after completion of a Registered Apprenticeship is $80,000, according to apprenticeship.gov.

To raise awareness of apprenticeship opportunities ahead of National Apprenticeship Week, the Idaho Department of Labor and Apprenticeship Idaho hosted a webinar on Nov. 7. The event covered Registered Apprenticeship opportunities in the emerging field of advanced manufacturing with a special focus on women in the industry.
