BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting – New York, September 26

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mauro Vieira, participated in the BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting held in New York on September 26th.

This is the first time that the BRICS foreign ministers meet on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly since the group's expansion was formalized in January.

As usual, Brazil chaired the meeting, as it will be the next country to hold the BRICS presidency starting on January 1st, 2025.

During the meeting, the ministers exchanged views on the main global and regional issues, followed up on the ministerial meeting held in Russia in June and discussed preparations for the Kazan Leaders' Summit, to be held in Russia (October 22-24).
