Explore the WeGolmec Trail through September

Discover the original 17 Olmec sculptures depicted on unique yard signs and three hand-painted replicas part of the Olmec Trails: Culture & Legacy art exhibit on the WeGolmec Trail. This community initiative is a fun scavenger hunt featured along the Illinois Prairie Path in West Chicago.

The trail starts at the "Serenade Yellow" Olmec sculpture at the Kruse House Museum and ends at the "Perspectives of My Region, Michoacan Eye of Water" sculpture at Reed-Keppler Park. Participation is free and a great way to explore the Illinois Prairie Path, admire the sculptures, and enjoy the fall weather.

To join, visit westchicago.org/olmec and upload a photo of each sign and sculpture found along the Prairie Path from Kruse House to Reed-Keppler Park.

Commemorative throwback shirts from the 2022 "Year of the Alebrijes" initiative will be awarded to the first 25 participants.

This event will be available to residents through Sunday, September 29.
