In July 2022, New Jersey Reps. Mikie Sherrill and Josh Gottheimer said they would oppose raising taxes as part of a revised reconciliation bill if the bill did not also grant relief on the State And Local Tax (SALT) deduction cap.

Altman criticized Sherrill and Gottheimer, complaining that the Democrats had given them much easier districts butt they still "Turned away from the party ad Biden/Pelosi."

As a reminder: AOC and other progressive groups, like Altman's Working Families Party, have condemned the SALT cap repeal.
