USTR Delays August 301 Changes

On July 30, 2024, the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) issued a press release announcing a delay in the effective date of a set of section 301 tariffs originally scheduled to go into effect on August 1, 2024.

According to the press release, the USTR received more than 1,100 comments in response to its May 28, 2024, request for comments published in the Federal Register. It continues to review received comments, and "expects its final determination will now be issued in August 2024." USTR also expects any modifications will take effect "approximately two weeks after it makes the final determination public."
