The Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership Co-Locates Third American Job Center (AJC) at City Colleges of Chicago

AJC at Daley College moves into College's main building; opens new AJC at Malcolm X College's West Campus.

CHICAGO-(September 3, 2024) - As part of celebrating Workforce Development Month in September, The Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership (The Partnership) and City Colleges of Chicago today announced the third co-location of an American Job Center (AJC) at a City Colleges location.

  1. As of today, September 3, the AJC that had been located on Daley College property has moved into the college's main building, at 7500 South Pulaski.
  2. As of July 1, there is a new AJC located in the Malcolm X College's West Campus at 4624 West Madison Street.
  3. These two locations join the already established AJC at Truman College, at 1145 West Wilson Avenue, Suite 1917.

"Over the past year, The Partnership has committed to re-imagining our network's workforce development efforts in the region, which includes ensuring our network is located where its services are needed and can be easily accessed, to best serve career seekers and employers," said Partnership CEO George Wright. "Of our 10 regional AJCs, five in the city and five in suburban Cook County, more than half of those in the city are now co-located at a City Colleges site. We believe this allows us to better meet customers "where they are" and ultimately enrich our communities and region as a whole."

"We are excited to share that these AJC's are now co-joined with two new colleges for a total of three locations within City Colleges. These co-locations are critical to students and the public because it meets people where they are to better support their career goals," said Chancellor Salgado, City Colleges of Chicago.

AJC's offer a range of employment services for adult and youth career seekers and employers, whether starting a career, looking for funding for training, or seeking to hire a local, talented team. For more information about the Partnership's AJC network, or to reach an AJC, career seekers and employers can visit LevelUpAJC.org.
