American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) Statement on Congressional Black Caucus Corporate Accountability Report

WASHINGTON - The American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) participated in a survey by the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), reported in the new CBC report titled "What Good Looks Like: A Corporate Accountability Report on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion," based on a shared commitment to expanding access to financial security and financial inclusion and closing financial protection gaps.

CBC Chairman Steven Horsford (D-NV) released the first-of-its-kind report this week during the group's annual legislative conference.

"ACLI appreciates a constructive partnership and looks forward to continued dialogue about an increasingly diverse insurance industry workforce that can help to achieve greater financial inclusion and financial certainty through all stages of life and from one generation to the next," said ACLI President and CEO Susan K. Neely.

"We look forward to working with the CBC and its members to expand our reach and foster inclusion and belonging within the financial services industry and the policyholders served by financial guarantees made by life insurers," said ACLI Chief Inclusion Officer Michelle Carroll Foster.

The American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) is the leading trade association driving public policy and advocacy on behalf of the life insurance industry. 90 million American families rely on the life insurance industry for financial protection and retirement security. ACLI's member companies are dedicated to protecting consumers' financial wellbeing through life insurance, annuities, retirement plans, long-term care insurance, disability income insurance, reinsurance, and dental, vision and other supplemental benefits. ACLI's 275 member companies represent 93 percent of industry assets in the United States.
