Congressman Cohen Announces $1.2 Million CDC Grant to UTHSC

MEMPHIS - Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) will receive a grant of $1,196,000 for its innovative cardiovascular health program from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

"Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death among adults in the United States. I am pleased the CDC is promoting a comprehensive heart heath program at our Memphis-based medical school and anticipate improved health outcomes in our community from this project."
