City of Galveston under coastal flood watch

The City of Galveston is under a coastal flood watch from now until at least Sunday at 3 p.m. because of Hurricane Beryl. Tides up to 4 feet are probable, which will likely cause tidal flooding in low-lying areas of the island and particularly on the West End.

Follow the advice of local officials and monitor official sources and local news for guidance.

Do not drive through standing water.

If you are stranded, move to the highest elevation you can.

We will post another update from the US National Weather Service Houston-Galveston TexasTexas 5 p.m. on the City's Facebook page @CityofGalveston.
