The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for areas in San Mateo County beginning the evening of Thursday, October 17 and lasting through Saturday, October 19. A Red Flag Warning means warm temperatures, very low humidities, and stronger winds are expected to combine to produce an increased risk of fire danger.
During this period, as a safety precaution, camp fires are not permitted in Memorial Park and barbecue use is restricted to charcoal only. Visitors to the Tan Oak day-use picnic area should check with park rangers to see whether barbecues are permitted for use with charcoal.
