Indiana, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that motorists will experience traffic pattern changes beginning August 8, 2024 as progress continues on the intersection improvement in Brockway, Jefferson County.

August 8 through September 13, 2024, there will be traffic pattern changes for Phase 2 of the Brockway Intersection Improvement Project at the Route 28 (Main Street) and Route 219 (Clark Street) intersection. A temporary traffic signal and signs will be in place to direct motorists. The long-term temporary traffic pattern change during Phase 2 construction will assist the contractor with constructing the curbs and sidewalks along the Phoenix Sintered Metals and Sheetz parking lots.

This project includes the resurfacing, minor drainage, and other miscellaneous construction from Pershing Street to the intersection of Route 28 & Route 219. Also included are the intersection improvements of the existing intersection of Route 219 and Route 28 which includes utility relocations, an updated traffic signal, sidewalk reconstruction, drainage updates, and other miscellaneous construction.

Contractor, Francis J. Palo, Inc. of Clarion, PA, will be completing this $3 million project that will conclude late October 2024.
