NTU Class of 2024 celebrates graduation milestone

From today to 2 August, 11,320 NTU Singapore graduands who will receive their degrees at the NTU Convocation 2024.

Presiding over the first of 24 Convocation ceremonies today was President of the Republic of Singapore Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, who became the University's Chancellor in 2023.

Addressing the Class of 2024 at the ceremony, NTU President Professor Ho Teck Hua congratulated the students on their graduation milestone and urged them to let empathy guide their choices and actions as they enter a new phase of their lives.

He also encouraged the graduands to "empathise with the environment so that our planet is sustainable for future generations" - a lesson drawn from the contributions of Professor Alexander J.B. Zehnder, who was conferred an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science today.
