WASHINGTON, D.C. - Joint Staff Spokesperson Navy Capt. Jereal Dorsey provided the following readout:

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr., spoke with Chief of the Israeli General Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi yesterday by phone.

Gen. Brown and Lt. Gen. Halevi discussed Iran's attack on Israel on Tuesday and ongoing assessments. Additionally, Gen. Brown expressed the need for continuous monitoring of further threats from Iran and its proxies in the region.

U.S. commitment to Israel's security and right to self-defense is unwavering. As aways, U.S. forces remain actively postured in the region to protect personnel, allies and partners.
