Route 711 Stahlstown Ligonier Road Bridge Preservation Begins Wednesday in Westmoreland County

09/23/2024

Uniontown, PA - Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing single-lane restrictions at the Route 30 (Lincoln Highway) and 711 (South Market Street/Stahlstown Ligonier Road) intersection scheduled to begin Wednesday, September 25, in Ligonier Township, Westmoreland County.

Traffic will be controlled by flagging during weekday, daylight hours and is anticipated through Wednesday, October 2. All work depends on weather and operations.

Crews from JF Shea Construction will apply an epoxy overlay to the Sgt. Alvin P. Carey and Pvt. John Ewing Memorial Bridge deck that carries Route 711 over Loyalhanna Creek. This is part of a larger $1.6M infrastructure investment project to preserve nine bridges on state routes throughout District 12. Work includes replacing worn and leaking seals and repairing concrete and approach slabs.

Be alert to flaggers and follow the posted signs and speed limits. Safety is everyone's responsibility.
