The Florida Department of Children and Families' Hope Bus will be stationed in the parking lot of the John H. Dickerson Heritage Library, 411 S. Keech Street, Daytona Beach, until 3 p.m. today, Oct. 19, and again from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20. The Hope Bus is offering food, water, and other essential supplies to those impacted by Hurricane Milton. Onsite, Hope Navigators are available to provide personalized assistance to individuals and families in need.
The Hope Bus is part of the Activate Hope initiative, the emergency response arm of the Hope Florida Initiative. By bringing together the private sector, nonprofits, and government resources, Activate Hope helps Floridians recover and rebuild after natural disasters.
Today is also the deadline for Volusia County residents receiving SNAP who lost food due to Hurricane Milton to apply for food replacement. Applications must be submitted online at www.myflfamilies.com/milton. This is a separate initiative from the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP), which has not yet been released.
