ACL invites you to join us for "Nutrition Services Under Title III," the fifth webinar in our Back-to-Basics webinar series, which is designed to advance the policy goals of the Older Americans Act (OAA). These goals include equity in service delivery, advocacy on behalf of older adults and family caregivers, appropriate accountability of funds, and efficient administration and oversight of these public programs.

The OAA statute - and the new OAA final rule - contain provisions for the administration of OAA Title III, Part C nutrition services formula grant programs.

This webinar will cover topics including:

• OAA final rule overview
• OAA final rule provisions related to nutrition services under Title III specific to state units on aging, area agencies on aging, and service providers
• Nutrition services-related flexibilities and expectations for state and area plans on aging and additional resources.

Nutrition services authorized under the OAA are designed to:

• Reduce hunger, food insecurity, and malnutrition of older adults
• Promote socialization of older individuals
• Promote the health and well-being of older people by:
  • Assisting them in gaining access to nutrition and other disease prevention and health promotion services.
  • Delaying the onset of adverse health conditions resulting from poor nutritional health or sedentary behavior.
