Parliament continues debating RA Draft State Budget 2025

At November 13 sitting, the National Assembly continued the debate on draft law on State Budget of the Republic of Armenia 2025.

The Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security Andranik Kocharyan made a related report on the budgetary document. He referred to the observations, concerns and proposals, which were presented by the deputies during the debate on the main document of the coming year at the joint sitting of the Standing Committees on Defense and Security and on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs.

"At the sitting of the Committee, a proposal was presented that henceforth, the budget bid submitted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, both for the entire department and the police, should include the statistical data on the quantitative and qualitative results of the various areas of the system activity in the previous relevant periods, and the targeted relevant analyses carried out in connection with them," the rapporteur noted and added that it will give an opportunity to have more realistic pictures on the substantiation of the budget bid being submitted by the given Ministry.

The Committee Chair spoke about the importance of the optimization of personnel resources in the Armed Forces, the development of the military industry, as well as the activities of the foreign intelligence service.

Andranik Kocharyan also answered the deputies' questions.
