7/31/24 Storm | Power Outages and Brush Disposal Extension

On the night of Wednesday, July 31, 2024, strong storms with reported wind speeds as high as 80 mph rolled through Kansas and into Missouri, causing widespread outages. Many of us, as well as our neighbors have experienced significant damages. City crews are actively working to clear trees, repair damages, and restore power outages this morning. We appreciate your patience while personnel works diligently to restore power.

In addition to power restoration, the City of Eudora will be offering extended dates and times to its Brush Disposal Program to facilitate the disposal of excess fallen limbs and debris. Dates and times include:

  • Thursday, August 1 |10am-4:30pm
  • Friday, August 2 | 8am-4:30pm
  • Saturday, August 3 | 8am-12pm

The brush dump is located at 515 W. 7th Street, and is immediately behind the wastewater treatment facility, next to the retention lagoon. City staff will be on hand to guide you, after you check in at the gate. The brush dump will only be open to current Eudora residents. A Driver's license or other form of ID will be required at the gate to allow entry.

Materials permitted to be dropped off at the brush dump include:

  • Trees
  • Brush
  • Wood chips from tree grinding
  • Tree stumps under 18" in diameter
    • Larger stumps may be ground down to fit these parameters

This program is typically only open on the first Saturday of the month (with some rescheduling due to holiday weekends), from March through October.
