Investigation Update: Two Juvenile Suspects Arrested After Multiple People Shot in Dorchester

Investigation Update: At about 12:15 PM, on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested a 17-year-old Juvenile Male, in the area of 4 Olde Derby Road, Norwood. The apartment was secured, pending a search warrant. At the time of his arrest, the suspect was wanted on a warrant issued out of Dorchester Juvenile for Firearm, Carry Without License, Firearm Without License, Carry Loaded, Ammunition without FID Card, Firearm, Discharge Within 500 Feet of Building, and five counts of Assault and Battery with a Firearm. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester Juvenile Court.

Detectives assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) executed a search warrant in the area of 4 Olde Derby Road, Norwood. As a result of the search warrant, detectives recovered a firearm with a Glock 43X upper and a Polymer 80 lower, with two fully loaded magazines. Detectives will seek additional firearm charges.

At about 12:57 PM, on Saturday, August 24, 2024, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested a 17-year-old Juvenile Male on firearm charges in the area of Castlegate Road. After further investigation, detectives were able to identify the suspect as one of the suspects wanted in a shooting incident in July. He was charged with Firearm, Carry Without License, Firearm Without License, Carry Loaded, Ammunition without FID Card, Firearm, Discharge Within 500 Feet of Building, and five counts of Assault and Battery with a Firearm. He was arraigned in Dorchester Juvenile Court.

The facts and circumstances surrounding the prior incident are as follows: At about 9:48 PM, on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to the area of 10 Greenwood Street for a report of multiple people shot. Upon arrival, officers located five victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
