Turner Lake one of Metro Atlanta's Top Fishing Holes

Turner Lake has been selected as one of Metro Atlanta's Top Fishing Holes by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources' Wildlife Resource Division (WRD) Gateway to Fishing Program.

The 26-acre lake has been part of the Turner Lake Complex since it became a Newton County park in 1999. The lake is stocked by the Department of Natural Resources every fall and features catfish, hybrid bass and bream.

Fishing is allowed 365 days a year with a valid fishing license. In addition, Newton County hosts two fishing events each year, in May and September.

Along with one of Metro Atlanta's top fishing holes, Turner Lake is also home to a softball complex, gymnasium with basketball and pickle ball courts, a fitness room, meeting room, senior center, playground, walking trails and dog park.

Turner Lake Park is located at 6185 Turner Lake Road NW, Covington.
