Flu and COVID-19 Clinics Announced

Health Services has announced this year's annual Flu and COVID-19 vaccine clinics for all three campus locations. Clinics are co-sponsored with Walgreen's Pharmacy and are open to all students, faculty and employees. Individuals will be able to sign up for a specific appointment time closer to clinic dates.

The dates ar as follows:

  • September 24, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., 2nd floor, Student Lounge, at the Law School
  • September 26, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., 2nd floor, Room 1114, at IHSC
  • October 29, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., University Center Event Room, South Orange Campus
  • November 12, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., Bethany Hall, Room A, South Orange Campus

Diane Lynch, DNP, director of Health Services, encourages all members of the University community to get both their annual flu shot and their COVID-19 vaccine. Dr. Lynch shared that anyone who has not had a COVID-19 vaccine within the last two months is eligible for that vaccine, and everyone should get their annual flu vaccine to keep our community healthy. Asked if it is safe to get both vaccines at the same time, Dr. Lynch assured that is safe and convenient to do so.

Dr. Lynch explained that while vaccines are not a guarantee against illness, they are very effective at protecting us from severe illness. This is especially important for anyone with underlying health conditions or anyone over the age of 65. Dr. Lynch also emphasized that healthy individuals who get vaccinated help greatly in our effort to keep our community well and safe. She said, "Healthy individuals get the best protection from vaccines because of their strong immune systems, and this means there will be less people on campus capable of spreading illness to our more vulnerable community members."

Seton Hall will be participating in the New Jersey College and University Flu Challenge - a competition among NJ institutions to get the most students vaccinated. Dr. Lynch said she is looking forward to our University reclaiming the trophy which we held from 2019 - 2022.

There is no charge for either vaccine. Individuals will need to provide their SHU ID card and insurance card. Students who miss the clinic may make an appointment with Health Services to get a flu shot anytime at no cost.
