These 73 houses are designed by the Ministry of Construction and Quang Binh Department of Construction in the framework of the project "Improving resilience of vulnerable coastal communities to climate change-related impacts in Viet Nam" of UNDP funded by the Green Climate Fund. It is expected that 73 "flood and storm resilient" houses will be completed and handed over to people in late July 2022.
It is known that in the period of 2018-2021, UNDP and Green Climate Fund have supported the construction of 897 "flood and storm resilient" houses in Quang Binh
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Manh Hung emphasized that Quang Binh is a province often heavily affected by natural disasters, only by 2020, the consequences of 4 storms and historical floods caused damage to thousands of households. The support of UNDP and World Share to build flood and storm resilient houses for people is very practical and effective. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Manh Hung expressed his thanks and expected UNDP and World Share to continue to accompany and support the construction of " flood and storm resilient" houses for the people of Quang Binh.
