Reps. Cleaver, Graves Introduce Resolution Honoring America’s Teachers

(Washington, D.C.)- In honor of National Teacher Appreciation Week, U.S. Representatives Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO) and Sam Graves (R-MO) introduced a resolution in the House of Representatives to recognize America's teachers and the invaluable impact they have on students and communities across the country. The bipartisan resolution underscores the important role that teachers play in preparing kids to be productive, responsible, and successful citizens, and encourages every American to demonstrate appreciation for the teachers in their life.

"With numerous family members who have committed their life to education, I know very well the hard work and generosity it takes to be a teacher in today's world. There are countless teachers throughout Missouri who are dedicated to the education, development, and well-being of our children, providing them with the tools they need to lead our communities into the next generation," said Congressman Cleaver. "During Teacher Appreciation Week, I'm proud to join with my friend Rep. Graves to give thanks and show our appreciation to every educator in Missouri and across the country for their selfless service to the nation. Thank you for all that you do!"

"Our dedicated teachers go the extra mile to ensure that our children get a world-class education," said Congressman Graves. "In a world filled with increasing challenges and distractions for our children, teachers continue finding ways to help them learn and grow. I'm incredibly grateful for the excellent teachers who have played a role in my life and helped me get to where I am today. The same goes for my kids and grandkids who also have or are benefitting from wonderful teachers. Thank you to all of America's teachers. We are grateful for your service to our communities and families during Teacher Appreciation Week and every other week of the year."
