RJC Commemorates Jewish American Heritage Month as Antisemitism Spikes

Washington, DC - The Republican Jewish Coalition released the following statement commemorating Jewish American Heritage Month.

RJC National Chairman Senator Norm Coleman and CEO Matt Brooks said:

370 years ago, the first Jewish Americans arrived on these shores in search of a freer and more prosperous future. Since then, Jews have contributed tremendously, in a multitude of ways, to the remarkable culture, history, and achievements of the greatest country in the history of the world.

Since the horrific Hamas terrorist attacks of October 7th, the days have been dark and frightening for the Jewish community both in Israel and here in the United States.

Antisemitism has spiked nearly 400%. Jewish students at universities across the country have been attacked, harassed, intimidated, and barred from campus by antisemitic, anti-American mobs. Even worse, these rampaging Hamas apologists are being cheered on by Hamas and Hezbollah terrorists, and disgracefully encouraged by Members of Congress, college faculty, and classmates.

This is a time for moral clarity, courage, and righteous leadership. The Jewish community deserves and expects nothing less. And we are deeply, deeply thankful and grateful for the support and love from those who are standing with us.

On this first day of Jewish American Heritage Month, we condemn antisemitism in all its forms, and resolve to hold those who perpetuate the world's oldest hatred accountable.
