Exhibitors are paid fee ranging on scale, site and time

ST. LOUIS (September 30, 2021): The Lambert Art and Culture Program at St. Louis Lambert International Airport has released a Call for Exhibitors, which is open until November 9, 2021. Artists, makers, curators, and arts, culture, and science organizations in St. Louis and the surrounding area (within 150 miles of the Airport) are encouraged to apply for the opportunity to curate and display an exhibition at the Airport.

Applicants to the Call for Exhibitors are asked to describe the exhibition that they would be interested in organizing, including the theme and types of works that would make up the display. Specific proposals are not needed at this time, but sample images of the artwork or objects described in the exhibition idea are required. The Airport Art Advisory Committee will review applications to select a pool of exhibitors. Selected exhibitors will be scheduled for one of the Airport's eight exhibition sites. All of the spaces are highly visible - viewed by millions of travelers and visitors to the Airport each year. The current opportunity is for exhibitors to show between May 2022 and November 2025 with each exhibition lasting between six months and one year. Exhibitors are paid a fee based on the scale of the determined site and the responsibilities associated with curating, installing, and de-installing the exhibition.

Airport exhibitions elevate the passenger experience, uplift regional pride by highlighting the breadth of art and culture in the region from seasoned artists and established organizations, to emerging artists and new collaborations. Past exhibitors to the Lambert Art and Culture program have included cultural organizations such as The National Blues Museum, The Foundry Arts Centre, The Missouri Botanical Garden and Humans of St. Louis. Many experienced local artists have arranged exhibitions, including Cbabi Bayoc, Carol Carter and Michael Hoffman, alongside artists whose careers are just taking off. Curatorial, technical and administrative assistance is available for all selected exhibitors and extra assistance can be provided to smaller organizations and emerging artists and curators.

Optional tours of the exhibition locations will be offered to potential applicants on October 12 and 13. Space is limited so applicants are encouraged to RSVP for the tours early.

Applications are due November 9, 2021. The full Call for Exhibitors and application instructions can be found at ArtofTravelSTL.com.
