Sunday Night Lane Closures on SR 236/Lavista Rd in Tucker as Resurfacing Project Continues
METRO ATLANTA - Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) contractors will install lane closures on State Route (SR) 236/Lavista Road in DeKalb County this weekend to continue a resurfacing project on Lavista Road between Interstate 285 (I-285) and SR 8/Lawrenceville Highway. The resurfacing work will repair the deteriorating condition of the roadway and provide a smoother ride for drivers.
Weather and on-site conditions permitting, one left lane will be closed on Lavista Road westbound on Sunday, May 12, from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Monday.
On-site signage will alert drivers of these closures in advance. Lane closures help ensure safety for workers and drivers as work crews mill and pave the roadway.
As always, motorists traveling in the area are reminded to reduce their speeds in the work zone. Motorists are also encouraged to wear seatbelts, eliminate distractions behind the wheel, and plan their routes before getting on the road. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app for Apple or Android for real-time information on work status and traffic conditions.
