Ashtabula County: Construction update

Ashtabula County (Thursday, May 9, 2024) - The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Ashtabula County next week. All scheduled work is weather permitting.

Interstate 90 resurfacing, Geneva & Harpersfield Townships
NEW IMPACT - Beginning Monday, May 20, I-90 between the Lake County line to just east of SR 534 will have various lane restrictions for resurfacing.
NEW IMPACT - Beginning Monday, May 13, Van Pelt Rd. over I-90 will be closed through Friday, May 24. The detour will be Bishop Rd. to LaFevre Rd. to SR 84.
CONTINUING IMPACT -SR 534 over I-90 will have various lane restrictions for bridge repairs.
Estimated completion, early September 2024.

State Route 11 resurfacing, City of Ashtabula; Ashtabula & Plymouth Townships
SR 11 between SR 46 and SR 531 has various daily lane restrictions for resurfacing. Estimated completion, late October.

State Route 84 & 531 resurfacing, Ashtabula
The following routes have various lane restrictions for resurfacing:

  • SR 84 from the western Ashtabula Corporation limit to 48th St.
  • SR 531 from Westshore Dr. to the eastern Ashtabula Corporation limit.
Estimated completion, late August 2024.

State Routes 307 & 534 roundabout in Harpersfield Township
The intersection of SR 307 & SR 534 is closed through late June for roundabout construction. The detour is SR 166 to SR 528 to SR 84 to SR 45.

State Route 531 erosion repairs, Village of North Kingsville; Ashtabula Township
CONTINUING IMPACT - SR 531 at Monday Dr. is closed through late May for erosion control. The detour is SR 193 to U.S. 20 to SR 7.
CONTINUING IMPACT - SR 531 between SR 193 and LaBounty Rd. is closed through May 2024. The detour is SR 193 to U.S. 20 to SR 11.
