Franklin County: Weekly Construction Update

The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Franklin County next week. All outlined work is weather permitting. I-70/71 Downtown Ramp Up Update

Interstate 270

NEW IMPACTS

  • I-270 southbound will be reduced to one lane from 8 p.m. - 10 p.m. Thursday, May 9th.
  • I-270 southbound will close from 10 p.m. - 5 a.m. Thursday, May 9th through Friday, May 10th.
    • Detour: I-270 SB to I-70 WB to James Rd. to I-70 EB to I-270 SB
  • All lanes of I-270 northbound will be closed nightly (10 p.m. to 8 a.m.) from Friday, May 10th through Sunday, May 12th. The US 33 on-ramps to I-270 NB will also be closed during this time.
    • I-270 NB Detour: I-270 NB to US 33 WB to James Road to I-70 EB to I-270 NB.
    • US 33 WB to I-270 NB Detour: US 33 WB to James Road to I-70 EB to I-270 NB.
    • US 33 EB to I-270 NB Detour: US 33 EB to Hamilton Rd. to US 33 WB to James Rd. to I-70 EB to I-270 NB.
  • I-270 southbound express lanes will close nightly (10 p.m. to 8 a.m.) from Friday, May 10th through Sunday, May 12th. Access to the I-70 ramps from I-270 SB will be maintained throughout the weekend.
    • Detour: I-270 SB collector lanes (access to I-70).

NEW IMPACTS

  • Traffic on the I-270 eastbound to US 23 southbound ramp has been switched into a new configuration with traffic exiting to US 23 via a signal-controlled intersection. This pattern is expected to remain in place through Summer 2024.

Interstate 670

NEW IMPACTS, THURSDAY MAY 9th

  • The SR 315 southbound ramp to Neil Ave. will close starting 7 p.m. Thursday, May 9th through 5 a.m., Friday, May 10th.
    • Detour: SR 315 southbound to Goodale St. to Vine St. to Neil Ave.
  • The SR 315 southbound ramp to I-670 eastbound will close starting 7 p.m. Thursday, May 9th through 5 a.m., Friday, May 10th.
    • Detour: SR 315 southbound to I-70 eastbound to I-71 northbound to I-670 eastbound
  • I-670 eastbound between SR 315 and 4th St. will be reduced to two lanes from 8 p.m. - 5 a.m. from Thursday, May 9th through Friday, May 10th.
  • The I-670 eastbound ramp to 4th St./Goodale St. will be closed from 8 p.m. - 5 a.m. from Thursday, May 9th through Friday, May 10th.
    • Detour: I-670 EB to I-71 SB to Main St. to 4th St. to Goodale St.
  • The I-670 eastbound ramp to 3rd St. will close starting 11 p.m. Thursday, May 9th through 5 a.m., Friday, May 10th.
    • Detour: I-670 eastbound to I-71 northbound to 11th Ave. to 3rd St.
  • The I-670 eastbound ramp to Neil Ave. will close starting 11 p.m. Thursday, May 9th through 5 a.m., Friday, May 10th.
    • Detour: I-670 eastbound to U.S. 33 eastbound to W. Long St. eastbound to Neil Ave. to Vine St.

NEW IMPACTS, FRIDAY MAY 10th - MONDAY MAY 13th

  • I-670 eastbound between SR 315 and I-71 will close for the weekend starting at 9 p.m. Friday, May 10th through 5 a.m., Monday, May 13th for resurfacing.
    • Detour: I-70 eastbound to I-71 northbound to I-670 eastbound
  • The SR 315 southbound ramp to Neil Ave. will close starting 7 p.m. Friday, May 10th through 5 a.m., Monday, May 13th.
    • Detour: SR 315 southbound to Goodale St. to Vine St. to Neil Ave.
  • The SR 315 southbound ramp to I-670 eastbound will close starting 7 p.m. Friday, May 10th through 5 a.m., Monday, May 13th.
    • Detour: SR 315 southbound to I-70 eastbound to I-71 northbound to I-670 eastbound
  • The SR 315 northbound ramp to I-670 eastbound will close starting 7 p.m. Friday, May 10th through 5 a.m., Monday, May 13th.

    • Detour: I-70 eastbound to I-71 northbound to I-670 eastbound
  • The I-670 eastbound ramp to Neil Ave. will close starting 11 p.m. Friday, May 10th through 5 a.m., Monday, May 13th.
    • Detour: I-670 eastbound to U.S. 33 eastbound to W. Long St. eastbound to Neil Ave. to Vine St.
  • The Neil Ave. ramp to I-670 eastbound will close starting 11 p.m. Friday, May 10th through 5 a.m., Monday, May 13th.
    • Detour: Neil Ave. to Long St. to 4th St. to I-670 eastbound
  • The I-670 eastbound ramp to 3rd St. will close starting 11 p.m. Friday, May 10th through 5 a.m., Monday, May 13th.
    • Detour: I-670 eastbound to I-71 northbound to 11th Ave. to 3rd St.
  • The I-670 eastbound ramp to 4th St./Goodale St. will close starting 11 p.m. Friday, May 10th through 5 a.m., Monday, May 13th.
    • Detour: I-670 eastbound to I-71 southbound to Main St. to 4th St. to Goodale St.

State Route 161

NEW IMPACTS

  • The Hamilton Rd. ramp to SR 161 eastbound will close overnight (7 p.m. - 5 a.m.) Thursday, May 9.
    • Detour: Hamilton Rd. to SR 161 WB to Sunbury Rd. to SR 161 EB
  • The SR 161 eastbound ramp to New Albany Rd. will close overnight (9 p.m. - 5 a.m.) Thursday, May 9, and Sunday, May 12th
    • Detour: SR 161 EB to US 62/Johnstown Rd. to SR 161 WB to New Albany Rd.
  • The SR 161 westbound ramp to continue on SR 161 westbound at I-270 will close overnight (9 p.m. - 5 a.m.) Thursday, May 9.
    • Detour: SR 161 WB to I-270 NB to SR 3 to I-270 SB to SR 161 WB
  • The New Albany Rd. ramp to SR 161 eastbound will close overnight (9 p.m. - 5 a.m.) Sunday, May 12 and Monday, May 13.
    • Detour: New Albany Rd. to SR 161 WB to Hamilton Rd. to SR 161 EB
  • The SR 161 eastbound ramp to US 62/Johnstown Rd. will close overnight (8 p.m. - 5 a.m.) Monday, May 13 and Tuesday, May 14.
    • Detour: SR 161 EB to Beech Rd. to SR 161 WB to US 62/Johnstown Rd.
  • The US 62/Johnstown Rd. ramp to SR 161 eastbound will close overnight (7 p.m. - 5 a.m.) Tuesday, May 14.
    • Detour: US 62/Johnstown Rd. to SR 161 WB to New Albany Rd. to SR 161 EB.
