Memorial Day ceremony to be held May 27 with Gov. Abbott in attendance

KILLEEN, Texas (May 10, 2024) - The Area Veterans Advisory Committee will co-host the Killeen Memorial Day ceremony on May 27 at 10 a.m. at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery (11463 State Highway 195). The public is invited to attend and Gov. Greg Abbott will be attending and making remarks.

Additionally, the guest speaker will be Lt. Gen. Sean C. Berabe, Commanding General III Corps and Fort Cavazos and Mayor Debbie Nash-King will provide welcoming remarks. Veterans organizations are encouraged to attend and bring their post colors and wreaths by 9:30. The wreaths will be laid at 10:45 a.m., followed by a 21-gun salute and the playing of taps.
