Supervisors Showcase Pinal County Economic Development Opportunities in Washington D.C.

This week, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors Mike Goodman, Vice-Chairman Jeffrey McClure, and Economic and Workforce Development Director James Smith participated in the Greater Phoenix Economic Council's Washington D.C. ExecMission.

The mission included meetings and discussions with Arizona's congressional delegation and panel discussions on various topics critical to future growth, including trade with Taiwan, the semiconductor industry, and developments in artificial intelligence.

ExecMission participants spent one day focused on various tracks that are key for the region, including Infrastructure, aerospace and defense, climate technology, bioscience, and foreign direct investment. These "breakout" meetings allowed for focused discussions with several important federal agencies.

These biennial missions are an effort to communicate Greater Phoenix's needs and opportunities to leaders in our nation's capitol and to learn about various federal programs that will help ensure the region is well-positioned for continued growth.
