Interior Deputy Secretary Nominee Shannon Estenoz Brings Essential Experience to Agency

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The nomination of Shannon Estenoz to serve as Deputy Secretary of the Department of the Interior underscores the Biden Administration's commitment to conserving and restoring our nation's lands and waters, recovering wildlife for future generations, and expanding opportunities for outdoor recreation.

"From leading efforts to restore the iconic Everglades to her work supporting nationwide efforts to recover fish and wildlife, Shannon Estenoz will bring her thoughtful perspectives and hands-on experiences to the deputy secretary role," said Abby Tinsley, vice president for conservation policy at the National Wildlife Federation. "The Senate unanimously supported her confirmation to serve as the Interior Department's assistant secretary for fish and wildlife, and she has excelled in that role. The Senate should now support her nomination and confirm her to this critical position."
