Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Forces Makes Introductory Visit to Singapore ..

Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF), Brigadier General (BG) Haji Mohammad Shanonnizam bin Sulaiman called on Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen earlier today. During the meeting, Dr Ng and BG Shanonnizam reaffirmed the close and long-standing defence relations between Singapore and Brunei, and discussed ways to deepen defence cooperation between the Singapore Army and the RBLF.

BG Shanonnizam, who is in Singapore for his introductory visit from 22 to 24 April 2024, also called on Chief of Defence Force Vice Admiral Aaron Beng and Chief of Army Major-General David Neo after inspecting the Guard of Honour at MINDEF. As part of his programme, BG Shanonnizam visited the Motorised Infantry Training Institute (MTI) at Kranji Camp III, where he received a brief on our Army's Motorisation effort. He was also given a familiarisation ride on the Terrex, and viewed static displays of the Belrex Protected Combat Support Vehicle and Army's suite of drones.

BG Shanonnizam's visit underscores the close and long-standing defence ties between Singapore and Brunei. The Singapore Army and RBLF interact regularly through high-level visits, professional exchanges, cross-attendance of courses, and bilateral exercises. These interactions have enhanced the professionalism of both armies, and fostered mutual understanding between their personnel.
